Accessibility for Web Developers - Part 1
Course 2 of 8 in NOAA Website Creator
Accessibility issues on the website tend to fall into two categories: issues for content contributors and issues for developers. Developers work with HTML coding to create page templates, tools, and applications. This first course in a two-part series introduces web developers to the essential principles of digital accessibility and their critical role in building inclusive websites. Developers will explore how different disabilities impact web use, understand key accessibility standards like WCAG and international laws, and begin applying best practices to images, tables, and multimedia.
